OOAK Red Roses High Crowned Victorian Spoon Bonnet

Belle is a lovely Mid-Victorian style spoon bonnet. While earlier bonnets of the 19th Century had lower brims, by mid-century Spoon Bonnets, which featured increasingly high brims and more elaborate trimmings, became the vogue. This high crowned spoon bonnet is made of tightly braided straw and features pointed edges on the brim, to allow for at "curtain" (bavolet) in the back to protect the neck from sun.

This one of  a kind bonnet is made with vintage lace and trimmed in simple red roses and berries to accent the checked red and white taffeta ribbon. Perfect for a party....or a picnic at Twelve Oaks!
