Marie The Marie hat shown here is a 15" low crowned straw called a Bergère. Popular from the mid 1700's to early 1800's, it was representative of the simpler styles and fashions that were coming into vogue, beginning with Marie Antoinette's famous Shepherdess experiment. It was seen often in the film "Marie Antoinette" but is also seen below in this fashion plate, "A Peep into Kensington Gardens" from The Gallery of Fashion(Morning Dress, June 1794.) This hat is 15" in diameter with a 5" wide, 1" deep crown. It features bias tape around the edge of the brim, while ribbon and a floral spray provide the finishing touch. Comes complete with custom hatpin. Please specify ribbon and trim color choices.
